Let’s be honest. How many of you are actually drinking enough water on a daily basis consistently?

If you’re somewhat like me, there are about a million things you need to do and a million more things going through your mind at any given time. This is a problem because all the neurons firing in my brain make it hard to remember to stay on top of basic necessities like water. I have no idea how much water I’m drinking on any given day because I’m not tracking it, but I’ll wager it’s not enough.

Waterllama is a great app for anyone who wants to stay hydrated and healthy by drinking more water. It is a fun and effective water tracker that helps you track your water intake from various beverages, calculate your daily water goal, receive smart reminders, collect cute characters, join fun challenges, and more.

My Experience

I’ve been using the Waterllama app for a couple of days now, and I have to say that I am very pleased with how it has helped me stay on top of my water goals. One of the things that I really like about Waterllama is how it makes drinking water fun and easy. The app has a clear and colorful design that shows me how much water I have drunk and how much more I need to drink. I can also log my drinks with a simple swipe or tap on the app or the widget.

The app also recognizes different beverages and calculates their water content accordingly. For example, if I drink a cup of coffee, it will count as 80% water and 20% caffeine. There are plenty of water substitutes that you can keep track of like green tea, juice, smoothies, and more, which is nice because those types of beverages are usually overlooked when calculating water consumption.

Waterllama really makes you aware of how much water you need to be drinking. After inputting my weight, activity level, and other metrics, I realized not only am I not drinking enough water, the ideal amount of water I thought I should be drinking was not even enough. This made me cognizant of how much water I really need and I started to pay more attention to how much water I get on a daily basis. The smart notifications help tremendously to stay on top of your water intake in this process.

Another thing that I enjoy about Waterllama is how it’s not just a simple water tracking app, but has fun characters and challenges incorporated into it. I unlocked a llama named Lila who loves yoga and meditation and a sloth named Sam. The characters also react to my hydration level and show me different expressions depending on how well hydrated I am, which is a nice touch the developers added.

There were also some cool challenges I came across when using the app. Two of these are “Weight Loss Sloth”, a water fast requiring me to drink only water for 10 days, and “Caffeine Break”, which challenges me to avoid coffee and tea for a week to lessen the effects of caffeine. I liked these challenges because they motivate you to accomplish a goal and you get the added fitness benefit.

Why Waterllama?

I think what makes Waterllama so great is how fun and engaging the app is to use. I get to see the data I am looking for in terms of my hydration goals, along with this cool llama filled up with animated moving water.

The quality of design and attention to detail makes it entertaining to interact with and the integration of challenges keeps a creative edge to the app that motivates one to stay on top of their hydration goals.
